I was already excited about this weekend, but a wee surprise arrived in the post office and I'm now hopping in my seat!
Saturday sees me covering my first Civil Partnership at the Brisbane House Hotel here in Largs. The couple are lovely and I'm looking forward to capturing their special day with their families and friends. And so what if it rains, there will be sunshine in their hearts!
Sunday I return to the 9th century at Kelburn and have a fun day out with the Glasgow Vikings. Lightning storms are of course another good reason not to dress in chainmail. It's usually a nice relaxed day up by the visitor centre, practicing crafts, having a couple of skirmishes and sitting around with our viking friends. They even let the public come and talk to us!
Then the source of the parcel excitement on Sunday. I finally took the plunge and ordered an amazing dress back in July, determined to shoot the equally amazing Miel in a suitable setting. Some weeks later I contacted the company as nothing had popped up at my door. Turns out it had been sitting at the post office since 17th August. Anyway, a mad lunchtime dash to the post office, a frantic call to the venue for the shoot and some random texts to Miel and we have a shoot on Monday in Sloan's ballroom. Now to organise a carnival mask or two and some other assorted accessories and I'll be ready for that too. There may yet be more frantic calls for a makeup artist if we are unsuccessful in recruiting one in time!
So with a wedding, reenactment and a photoshoot this long weekend, there will be no rest, just lots and lots of editing!
