Kind of on the spur of the moment I drove up to Glasgow last night to attend the Only Way is Glasgow (TOWIG) at Oran Mor.
This fashion event was in support of Spirit Aid, and they laid on stalls, musical acts, burlesque dancers and a very polished fashion show.
I played audience for the first part of the event, before plonking myself at the end of the catwalk to capture the outfits
The first performers were a troupe from a local dance school, performing a couple of very energetic dance routines.
Next up was a young lass called Talia Storm. Decked out in sequins, shiny trousers and a record hat she let loose with a voice 3 times her size with a jazzy soul number. Her first number was received well, but the second number seemed to have an off sync backing track and didn't really grab the audience the same way.
Next up, after a video showing the work of Spirit Aid, were three singers from a local label. I'm afraid I missed the names on the announcements, so anyone wanting to fill the gaps, please let me know.
The final turn before the fashion show itself was another appearance by the dancing troupe. This time they did an interesting mix, with a very athletic and balletic dancer in black doing a sequence to a James Bond instrumental, interspersed with frenetic glittery burlesque fun from the main body of the dancers.
