Thanks to some of my recent work at the fashion shows and shoots, I'd had a couple of enquiries from different sources about working together on a project. Alan from ten30.co.uk had approached me about shooting with his clothing designs, Ashleigh Greenwood and Hazel Martin had shown an interest in modelling, if the opportunity arose.
Last Saturday saw the meeting of these requests in a shoot at Contrast Studios in Glasgow's city centre. A further call out to the goodwill of Cat Gatenby and makeup artist and Lesley Docherty as hair stylist and we had a shoot arranged.
9 am saw my arrival and then Ashleigh, lesley, Cat and Hazel all arrived in turn. We were a man down though, it turned out that Alan, the designer, had slept in. Luckily the hair and makeup that we'd planned was going to take a while. When he finally arrived at 11 we were just about ready to start.
In between we had seen the arrival of Chris Silver, who was to assist me on the shoot and Emily Morton and 2 fellow students, who were looking to interview me for a college project. I was grateful for the extra space and seating that the studio afforded us.
Hazel and Ashleigh were both happy to try out my mad ideas and the hair and makeup by Cat and Lesley was spectacular.
Due to the time on hair and makeup and the late arrival of the clothes, we were struggling with our expected end time of 1 pm, but thanks to the studio owner, we got an extension, which allowed us to get the shots we were wanting and for the models to try a few different outfits from ten30.
Lots of editing still to do, but I'm very happy with the early results.
