So the first of my guest blogs is a wee piece about G2E Events. I first met Adele at a charity photoshoot day in aid of Red Nose Day and have watched her events team develop and grow over the last couple of years.
Don't forget the Inspire the Attire 2 show on 17th August at the Tall Ship. Some of Scotland's star designers, models and a great venue, all for a noble cause.
Contact: Adele Robertson, Co-owner and Founder of G2E Events. Rebecca Tait,Co-owner of G2E Events.
G2E Events was founded back in2010 by myself, Adele Robertson and shortly before planning my first eventInspire the Attire, I posted looking for dressers and was extremely impressedby one of the girl’s – Becky Tait. Since then I asked her to join me and thatis when G2E formed.
After our success of Inspire theAttire, we showcased an exhibition for Scottish Fashion Award nominee DavidBlack which received an astounding amount of positive feedback. We wereextremely fond of this particular event as we only had a few weeks to planeverything and David Black is only one of the designers we have seen growthoroughout the past year and we are proud to have been a part of that.
We have our sequel event coming upon Friday 17 August which will be held at The Tall Ship at Riverside, the team fellin love with this venue and knew it was the one – who says true love doesn’t exist!
Originally, I started up G2EEvents as I wanted to produce a fashion event in aid of Diabetes UK as my lategrandmother suffered from Diabetes type 2 so I guess it was my way of givingback to the most inspirational woman in my life. I thrived on being constantlybusy, emails pouring in and meetings every day of the week. Without soundingcheesy it’s a buzz/adrenaline inside and it’s hard to get rid of! This industryis one of the toughest in the world and being able to help just one creative isenough to keep us going with showcasing the success of all creatives. Ofcourse, there is a lot of competition out there and I’ll put my hands up, itdoes get tough and it does get too much at times but I just remind myself whyI’m doing this and I’ve took the approach to just stay positive and keep doingwhat I love, which is showcasing talented creatives in the fashion world.
As well as me and Becky we have ourtwo interns Zoe Waters and Shavonne Higgins. These girls are a god send, I donot know what I’d do without them, it’s hard to gain loyalty within a team andwe struck lucky with our girls. We never work on the basis that they are‘interns’ and are less important – we work as a team and I hope we remain likethis for a very long time.
What’s next for G2E Events? AfterInspire the Attire 2, we are taking a few months to study the business side ofevent planning as we hope to make it a full time job. We believe in our team, which is success to us already.
