Last week saw me veering out socially for a change. A chance to take in a fashion show at the Buff Club, with Carnivale Bohemia, organised by Eris Events. It featured some old favourites of mine like NLM Design and Psychomoda as well as a couple of new discoveries like Iona Barker and Le Hat Noir.
Another new discovery on the night was the acoustic duo, Watermelon Moon. Lovely bluesy/jazzy mellow music. There was also a lively routine from Tania with a contemporary take on belly dancing.
Saturday saw me descend into the bowels of Drury Street in Glasgow at an extravaganza at The Steampunk Café. A fab Victorian inspired venue, with suitably attired guests for the big night. The Burlesque element was not for the faint hearted, but it was a great atmosphere, marvellous music provided by DJ Loveless and they even do food!
In a case of small worlds, I bumped into Tania here as well, one of the night's organisers had been at DOJCON, a model I've been friends with over FB for a while was compering the evening and I'd met the magician, George's Marvellous Magic, at a studio opening the year before. Even one of the staff had popped up the other week as star of a play I had shot stills for!
I suppose having mentioned it in passing above, I should add that a week or two ago I had a personal preview of Rewrite, performed by Butterfly with a Bomb productions., So here's an image from that too,
